Indian Architect and Builder magazine features a project born out of a new collaboration between URBZ/Urbanology and Studio Marc – a Turin based architecture studio. This article is authored by Shalmali Wangle.
Together Rahul Srivastava, Matias Echanove, Subhash Mukerjee and Michele Bonino form “Marc Hood“. An architectural and design practice that works with local builders and residents to create projects embedded in neighbourhoods’ cultural and economic fabric. One of Marc Hood’s first project, which is featured in IAB, is a mosque in Baiganwadi near Deonar dumping ground in Govandi. This project is resolutely collaborative as it is based on continuous interactions with the community that will use the mosque. Marc Hood is currently developing collaborations with other builders/contractors in the area. For more about Marc Hood and the mosque project see the IAB article here or here.
Also in the news this month is a long interview of URBZ’s Matias and Rahul by Agata Jaworska in Volume magazine (#32: Centers Adrift, August 2012). The interview can be read here or here.
